Invitation to an FDAL Seminar on 29 September 2011

Hello,

We mentioned in our August newsletter that we are to hold the first of a series of free seminars on 29 September. These are are intended to help keep interested friends and clients of FDAL up to date and perhaps support professional CPD requirements (as well as a bit of networking).

The event will be held at our offices at 117 Farringdon Road and begin at 17:45 for 18:00. After the talk there will be an opportunity to network and enjoy a glass of wine and light snacks. The event will close at about 20:30.

The speaker will be Ant Wilson, Director, Building Engineering, AECOM European Leader for Advanced Design, Applied Research and Sustainability. Those who know him can expect some fresh insight into this important area given his good connections.

The Seminar title is “The background to the proposed 2013 amendment to the Building Regulations Part L”, which is aimed to support your knowledge of the regulations, what the changes are intended to achieve and how this might affect you.

Photo of Ant WilsonAnt gained a BSc(Hons) in Building Engineering from Bath University and went on to join Oscar Faber (now AECOM) in 1979. He champions low energy/carbon sustainable building designs and is recognised as one of the most influential Building Services Engineers in the UK. He has considerable experience in Thermal modelling, low and zero carbon system, façade engineering, environmental sustainability and green measurement tools. Ant is a Chartered Engineer, a Fellow of the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers, the Energy Institute and the Society of Façade Engineering and a Member of the Society of Lights and Lighting. Ant is a CIBSE Low Carbon Consultant, received the AECOM 2007 Excellence Award for Thought Leadership, holds a Silver Medal from CIBSE for contributions to the Institution (2007), was recognised as the most influential person in building services engineering in 2008 by H&V news. He was the first ever winner of the ACE engineering ambassadors award in 2008 and was awarded the Construction and Building Services Division Prize 2009 by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers.

We are sure that with this formidable background the evening will be informative and enjoyable.

To help us plan, it would be enormously helpful if you would signify your interest in attending. You only need to click the link below in order to send us an email, but a phone call will do just as well.
